Tender description

Hackney Council intends to procure a building contractor to deliver the Marian Court Regeneration scheme, for which a planning application has recently been submitted. The contract will include: the demolition of all existing buildings and structures; construction of five buildings ranging in height from 3 to 12 storeys comprising a maximum overall floorspace of 20 491 m² (GEA) providing 160 mixed-tenure new and replacement homes for outright sale, shared ownership and social rent (Class C3), 721 m² (GIA) commercial (Class B1) floorspace, 147 m² (GIA) mixed retail (Class A1/A2/A3) floorspace, and 211 m² (GIA) of new /replacement community (Class D1) floorspace; a new east-west pedestrian, cycle and service route and 8 on-street disabled person’s parking spaces; creation of new public spaces and courtyards; new and upgraded pedestrian links and associated hard and soft landscaping; and all associated infrastructure including a new energy centre to serve the development. The restricted procedure will be followed. From the responses to the invitation to participate we intend to shortlist five contractors leading to a single stage tendering exercise. The design drawings provided with the ITT will be to RIBA 3+ stage. The form of contract will be JCT Design & Build 2011 with LBH amendments and the anticipated contract start date is 1.10.2018. At the Marian Court Project Information Event at Hackney House, Curtain Road, on the afternoon of Wednesday 14.3.2018, the council and its design team will present the scheme and answer any queries.
