Tender description

Renfrewshire Council is looking for Suppliers to meet its ongoing requirement for the supply and delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables to the Council's various establishments which include school kitchens, early learning and childcare, community centres, care homes and the Atrium at its Headquarters in Paisley. Renfrewshire Council requires a Framework to be put in place for their ongoing requirement for the supply and delivery of quality fresh fruit and vegetables to various establishments including primary and secondary school kitchens, early learning and childcare, community centres, care homes and the Atrium at its Head Office. Deliveries will be required for school kitchens, local authority and partnership early learning and childcare establishments during school term only. Deliveries for care homes, holiday early learning and childcare establishments will be required to be made throughout the calendar year. The framework will be ranked with a maximum number of 3 suppliers being awarded onto the Framework. The tenderer that receives the highest combined technical and commercial score will be deemed the 1st ranked supplier for the first 12 month period of the framework and other suppliers appointed to the framework will be ranked according to their overall score. Call-off contracts under the framework for all fruit and vegetable requirements will be by way of each establishment’s Corporate Procurement Card. From the commencement of the framework all prices will be fixed for 12 months. Prior to the 12 month anniversary of the commencement of the framework, contact will be made with the 3 suppliers asking for them to confirm whether their prices will remain unchanged for the next 12 months. In the event that they are to be increased, a mini competition will be held which could result in the 1st ranked supplier changing. The framework shall be for a period of 2 years with an option to extend the framework for an additional 12 month period on 2 occasions (2 + 1 + 1). It is anticipated that the framework will be awarded in mid December 2018 with the supplier commencing the supply and delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables in early January 2019. The start date will be confirmed in the letter of acceptance.
