Tender description

The International Advanced Manufacturing Park is a partnership between South Tyneside and Sunderland Councils, which has been designated by the UK Government as a “Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project”. The project will see the development of a world class hub for businesses in the automotive and advanced manufacturing sectors. Located on land immediately north of Nissan’s Sunderland plant. The site covers an area of around 150 hectares and circa 100 hectares retained for environmental mitigation. The development will comprise of circa 400 000 m2 of developable floor space, with extensive supporting highways, utilities and drainage infrastructure. The procurement exercise was to appoint a capable development partner to deliver the infrastructure and floor space for a wide range of occupiers on a bespoke and speculative basis. Our development partner requirements are set out below: 1) An experienced and innovative partner, demonstrably at the leading edge of future advanced manufacturing environments and able to drive new thinking to differentiate IAMP in a highly competitive market; 2) A capable partner, bringing forward all relevant skills and financial strength required to lead and undertake the programme; 3) A flexible partnership, allowing for a range of development solutions to meet occupier needs including but not limited to: — infrastructure (including highways and utilities), — build for lease, — build for sale, — lease and leaseback, — other; 4) A responsive partner, capable of turning round specific development propositions to potential occupiers in a timely manner, including sound and deliverable finance and design; 5) An open book financial partnership where costs and values are auditable and verifiable.
