Tender description

General electrical, mechanical and instrumentation works for schemes of 12 weeks or less covering new works, refurbishment works, replacement works or maintenance works. The projects will cover a wide range of potable and waste-water infrastructure improvement to offices, treatment works and other operational sites throughout the Wessex Water region. — installation/decommissioning of temporary supplies, — make safe and electrically decommission redundant equipment – instrumentation, building services, pumps and other motors and equipment, — check existing cable management is still fit for purpose and serviceable and utilise, alter, extend or replace as required, — check existing building services are still fit for purpose and serviceable and utilise, alter, extend or replace as required, — check any cabling intended for reuse is still fit for purpose and serviceable, — electrical installation of new equipment including Instrumentation, building services, pumps and other motors and equipment as required (including mounting of small equipment, board mounted instrumentation and control panels), — installation of electrical bonding conductors to exposed and extraneous conductive parts, — installation of earth electrodes as required and earth resistivity measurement, — installation of tagging, labelling and signage, — testing and inspection of all new and modified circuits and issuing of Electrical Installation Certificate, — purchasing of materials on request only, — electrical Design on request only, — preparation of all documentation associated with the required works, including but not limited to RAMs, testing documentation, as-built documentation as detailed within the WW standards. Installation/repair of larger process equipment and systems such as: — large skid mounted pumps, blowers, — compressors, — motors, — screens, — UV reactors, — valves/actuators, — strainers, mixers, — tanks, — packaged plant, — Generator repair and maintenance, — minor instrumentation. Installation/repair of small process equipment such as: — motor, actuators, — gearboxes, — rollers, — submersible pumps, Measurement and installation of pipework systems including large bore pipework (generally up to a max diameter of 1 600 mm) such as, ductile iron, epoxy coated carbon steel, stainless steel. Measurement and installation of small bore pipework systems stainless steel and plastic. — installation of pipework support systems, — Installation of minor ventilation fans and duct work. Pressure testing and certification of installed pipework systems up to and including 25 bar. Including any temporary works such as but not limited to blanking flanges fill points and make up pieces and calibrated pressure test equipment. Cleaning of existing equipment such as: — screens and compactors, — grit removal equipment, — tanks and chambers, — disinfection of pipework and chambers following completion if installation.
