Tender description

To facilitate the delivery of HS2, Affinity Water Limited (AWL) has a requirement for the provision of the following works. The timing of the works will vary and therefore AWL intends to set up an arrangement divided into a number of Lots: Lot 1: Design and installation of water mains and services. Lot 2: Design and installation of modifications of up to 5 treatment sites. Lot 3: Design and installation of modifications of up to 2 existing groundwater abstraction sites and/or additional booster pumping for the connection to another Utility’s network. Lot 1: Design and installation of water mains and services (of varying diameters) including diversions, replacement and network reinforcement of existing water mains; assessment and monitoring of the condition of water mains and services; and provision of new connections to water mains and services (of varying diameters) including connection of existing pipes to new water mains and services laid by others. Lot 2: Design and installation of modifications of up to 5 treatment sites primarily to deal with the risk of increased levels of chalk turbidity as a result of HS2 construction and on going maintenance. Lot 3: Design and installation of modifications of up to 2 existing groundwater abstraction sites and/or additional booster pumping for the connection to another Utility’s network for additional and replacement water sources including network pipe modification.
