Tender description
Bids are being invited from suitably qualified and experienced main Contractors to complete the design and to construct the proposed new Leisure Centre at Oakfield Road, Altrincham, WA15 8EW. The project requires demolition of part of the existing leisure centre (dry facilities) to allow for space to construct a new 3 storey leisure centre. The accommodation will comprise a leisure/learner pool and community pool together with associated changing village and group change facilities, staff change facilities, fitness suite and activity studio, squash courts/ party rooms, spa facility and premium change facilities, 6 court sports hall and ancillary space. On completion of the new build, the existing wet facilities will be demolished and the site left clear for possible future development. There is the potential of project extension to incorporate a circa 500 space MSCP. It is not the intention of the council to novate a design team to the successful Contractor. Expressions of interest are being invited from suitably qualified and experienced main Contractors to complete the design and to construct the proposed new Leisure Centre at Oakfield Road, Altrincham, WA15 8EW. The project requires the demolition of part of the existing leisure centre (dry provision incorporating changing rooms, gymnasium, sports hall, etc.) to allow sufficient space to construct a new 3 storey leisure centre. The accommodation will comprise a leisure/learner pool and community pool together with associated changing village and group change facilities, staff change facilities, fitness suite and activity studio, squash courts/party rooms, spa facility and premium change facilities, 6 court sports hall and ancillary space. On completion of the new build, the existing wet facilities (swimming pools, change facilities and Ancillary Space) will be demolished and the site left clear for possible future development. Furthermore there is the potential of project extension to incorporate a circa 500 space MSCP. The project is to be let on a JCT Design and Build Contract 2016 Edition with the objective being to provide a building of high architectural quality in keeping with the surrounding environment to meet the expectations of the client and stakeholders. The overall project duration will be 24 months open for use in the first quarter of 2022. It is not the intention of the council to novate a design team to the successful Contractor.
