This is Salford's time! By 2040 the City’s population is forecast to reach 300 000, driving one of the strongest residential markets outside London with 1 800 homes needed year on year by 2040. In addition, Salford’s three strategic growth areas — City Centre Salford, MediaCityUK and The Quays, and the GM Western Gateway — are poised to deliver between them 40 000 new homes and 40 000 new jobs by 2040. Salford City Council is looking to create new strategic partnerships to support and accelerate future development through collaborative working. Partners, sitting at the “top table” will bring expertise, knowledge and innovation to the Council allowing for new ideas and opportunities to be generated within the relevant business areas; leading to improved services and efficiencies and providing additional capacity and capability to progress our priorities and assist in accelerating our vision. The aim of the Council in appointing strategic partner(s) is to add capacity and intelligent expertise; increasing the capability of a number of existing business areas including: — development management-transforming the city through outstanding new infrastructure and development-strengthening and diversifying our economic base-connecting people to opportunities, — technical services, — delivering strategic connectivity, — connecting affordable transport with jobs and skills, — driving growth by capitalising on existing assets, estate rationalisation and identification of surplus assets-developing planning policies to support the economic growth and development of the City.Corporate Services: —— transforming the way we deliver services to our residents-providing quicker, easier and better experiences to customers, as well as working more efficiently-using technology and responding to increasing customer expectations-ensuring residents have the capability to access digital services.
