Tender description

Welsh Ministers (WM) are conducting a market test regarding detailed design and construction of a new 23 km section of motorway including a 440 m span cable stay bridge south of Newport ("Project"). The public inquiry stage has now been completed and a decision whether to proceed to detailed design and construction is anticipated shortly. WM wish to assess market conditions and inform their strategic decision-making re: possible re-tender of the project including: — whether to re-tender, — whether to split the project into 3 packages, — how to structure the project so as to achieve maximum value for public money and minimise/manage risk, and — the potential benefits of using the competitive dialogue procedure. Further details regarding the consultation process will be provided to interested parties who have registered their interest. Interested parties should register their interest by emailing TransportProcurement@gov.wales and requesting an information pack.
