Tender description
Barnsley Council is re-procuring its contract for the provision of housing repairs, servicing and capital improvements to one third of its social housing stock across the Borough. This PIN notice is to inform the market of the opportunity prior to its formal advertising via OJEU and of the informal Market Briefing day, which will give an overview of the contract and the procurement process followed by a Q and A session. The event will take place from 12:00 noon at the Barnsley Football Club, Grove Street, Barnsley S71 1ET, on the 27.9.2018. Please register your interest in attending via the messages area on the YORtender portal (https://www.yortender.co.uk) by 5:00 pm on the 24.9.2018 giving contact details and attendees names. Places will be limited to two representatives per organisation. Please note that you will need to register your interest in this opportunity to be able to access the messages area for the project. Barnsley Council is committed to its services being best in class. An efficient and effective housing repairs, servicing and capital improvements service across the Borough is a top priority, and one of the keystones of Council policy. We intend to maintain and improve upon a strong history of partnership working to make the most of our resources. That includes implementing a new single provider contract for the combined provision of housing repairs, servicing and capital improvements to the social housing stock across the Borough. Day to day management of this contract is a function delegated by the Council to Berneslai Homes the Council’s Arm’s Length Management Organisation (ALMO). The current contract ends 31.3.2020, and the procurement route for the new contract maintains the current model, namely two thirds of the work to be allocated to Berneslai Homes Construction Services (BHCS) under a Service Level Agreement (SLA), and one third to be competitively tendered to the Private Sector in the open market.
