Tender description

The scheme involves rehabilitation works to 4 bridges on the National Road Network in Counties Kerry and Clare as listed below. The scope of the works includes,  Traffic management on National Roads in rural and urban areas;  Water management and work in environmentally sensitive areas;  Earthworks/excavations, including excavation in the existing carriageway and adjacent to watercourse;  Demolition of two existing bridge structures and widening of 2 structures;  Resurfacing works in extent indicated on the Contract drawings;  Installation of safety barriers;  Construction of in-situ reinforced concrete elements;  Construction of reinforced concrete bridge structures;  Masonry repointing;  Masonry repair/construction;  Site clearance including tree felling and removal of vegetation from structures;  Temporary works to ensure stability of structures;  Road construction including the provision of bituminous surfacing including, road lining, installation of road studs and traffic signs; and ancillary work associated with road construction.  Removal of existing vegetation on or adjacent to the structure to gain access to the structure; Dealing with services including electricity, telecommunications, traffic signal equipment, water, waste water; and ancillary works associated with road and bridge works schemes including liaison with landowners affected by the works at each structure.
