Tender description

The City of London (The City) wishes to procure an Intermediate (Minor) Construction Works framework to support delivery of capital works programme, strategy and other initiatives. This may include a variety of construction works and disciplines, predominantly for mechanical, electrical & public health and building fabric works for various sites owned and/or managed by the City and other named parties mentioned in this Contract Notice. Individual call-off contracts let under this framework are generally intended to be in the range 250 000 GBP to 1 000 000 GBP. The Works covered by lot 1 will include, but not limited to, the delivery of projects that are predominately for building fabric with associated incidental mechanical and electrical alterations, remedial works and reconnection works. Based on previous experience (but without any guarantee of the future demand), the City’s likely needs predominantly consist of general external cyclical maintenance, internal refurbishment and thus trades such as scaffolding, masonry, roofing, carpentry, plumbing, decorations, floor finishes etc. are commonly used whereas new construction works, have been infrequently called upon in the value range and form of contract applicable. Each individual contract let under this framework will range (but is not limited to) works values between 250 000 GBP to 1 000 000 GBP. The Works covered by Lot 2 includes, but are not limited to, the delivery of projects that are predominately mechanical and electrical with associated incidental a limited amount of fabric / making good. Based on previous experience (but without any guarantee of the future demand), the City's needs include: — Gas fired boiler replacements (domestic and commercial in scale), — Wet heating system refurbishment / replacement, — Domestic hot and cold water systems refurbishment / replacement, — Chiller replacement, — VRF/VRV unit / system replacement, — AHU/FCU refurbishment / replacement, — HVAC system controls and other BMS works, — Lighting and small power systems replacement, — External lighting system replacement, — Fire/smoke detection / alarm system replacement, — CCTV system replacement, — Access control / intruder alarm system replacement.
