Tender description

Carmarthenshire County Council wishes to establish a framework and appoint contractors to provide property-related minor works, disabled adaptations, responsive works and other associated works. The framework will consist of 3 main areas of work namely: (i) Housing; (ii) Non-Housing; and (iii) Mechanical and Electrical, split across 10 Lots. Lot 8 will be for Non-Housing Mechanical works. Works will include day to day remedials arising from service contracts, small minor works and major schemes. This will cover non-domestic properties such as schools, administrative buildings, care homes, leisure facilities and industrial units and all their associated equipment. Up to 6 contractors will be appointed for this Lot. Lot 9 will be for Non-Housing Electrical works. Works will include day to day breakdown work, service remedials, planned minor works and capital works in non-domestic properties (including schools, administrative buildings, care homes, leisure facilities and industrial units). Up to 6 contractors will be appointed for this Lot. Lot 10 will be for the installation and repair of Fire and Intruder Alarms. Works will include repair, maintenance and installation work on both fire and security systems in non-domestic properties including schools, administrative buildings, care homes, leisure facilities and industrial units. Up to 6 contractors will be appointed for this Lot. Lot 2 will be for works relating to the Housing stock in the North of the County, of a value up to 2,500 GBP. Works will include day to day maintenance for domestic properties (e.g. plumbing, general electrical test checks, carpentry to include door replacement and kitchen unit installations, disabled adaptations, bricklaying, plastering, roofing and flooring). Up to 6 contractors will be appointed for this Lot. Lot 3 will be for works relating to the Housing stock of a value between 2 500 and 25 000 GBP. Works will include re-wiring, heating renewal and plumbing, damp proofing, roof repair, re-decoration, all wet trades, joinery, kitchen and bathroom replacement, chimney works, disabled adaptations, small scale landscaping, garden/house clearances and cleaning. Up to 8 contractors will be appointed for this Lot. Lot 1 will be for works relating to the Housing stock in the South of the County, of a value up to 2 500 GBP. Works will include day to day maintenance for domestic properties (e.g. plumbing, general electrical test checks, carpentry to include door replacement and kitchen unit installations, disabled adaptations, bricklaying, plastering, roofing and flooring). Up to 6 contractors will be appointed for this Lot. Lot 5 will be for Non-Housing works of a value up to 5 000 GBP. Works will include day to day maintenance for non-domestic properties (e.g. schools, offices, industrial units, farms, leisure facilities) including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, bricklaying, plastering, roofing and flooring. Up to 8 contractors will be appointed for this Lot. Lot 6 will be for Non-Housing works of a value between 5 000 to 150 000 GBP. Works will include internal refurbishments, alterations, DDA improvements, structural modifications / betterments with some externally funded schemes. Up to 8 contractors will be appointed for this Lot. Lot 7 will be for Non-Housing works of a value between 150 000 and 350 000 GBP. Works will include internal refurbishments, alterations, extensions, temporary accommodation, structural modifications / betterments with some externally funded schemes. Up to 8 contractors will be appointed for this Lot. Lot 4 will be for works relating to the Housing stock of a value of 25 000 GBP and above. The lot is intended to address planned major works of a non-routine nature, where building / structural elements have failed and are beyond economic repair by routine maintenance, or do not comply with legal requirements. This could include subsidence, ground heave, major damp, re-roofing works, disabled adaptations, or replacement of retaining walls etc. Up to 8 contractors will be appointed for this Lot.
