Land Sale for New Housing including the Provision of a New Community Centre - Invitation To Tender

Return Deadline is 17:00 hours on 9th August 2018. Suffolk County Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council (the procuring authorities) are inviting tenders for the disposal of two sites at St Olaves Road, Bury St Edmunds IP32 6RW. The sites currently accommodate the former Howard Primary School building, which has been closed and is now vacant, along with the Newbury Community Centre and Carousel children's centre which must be relocated on the primary school site to release land for residential development. A location plan, site plan and ownership plan are included as appendices to this document. An outline planning consent for the housing and new centre has received resolution to grant. A section106 agreement is in place in draft which the successful bidder will be required to agree. Bidders are invited to tender on the basis that Suffolk County Council require a payment of £1.15m for site with the remainder of the consideration to be directed towards the new community centre.
