Tender description

The works will comprise the supply delivery and construction of a new 4 storey university building with concrete frame and flat slab construction, secondary steel support and complex brick elevations complete with glazing and curtain walling. The internal skin of the external walls will be dry lined Metsec or other equal systems. The internal accommodation will be subdivided with non-load bearing acoustic rated partitions. The top floor of the building will be supported o a steel frame with rib-deck and in-situ topping with a membrane roof with sedum covering to the front section. The works include the construction of ground floor car-parking within the building envelope. The building contains: — Specialist accommodation. — Teaching mortuary. — Specialist engineering workshops. — Health and well-being simulated hospital wards and associated spaces. — Computer suites. — Staff and ancillary support accommodation. — Sport sciences. — Chemistry and biology labs. The procurement of the works is based on a Competitive Procedure with Negotiation.
