Tender description
Renewal of rising and lateral mains, upgrading of communal and emergency lighting systems and Class O decorations to common parts of selected housing blocks. The Royal Borough of Greenwich (the "Authority") sought expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced service providers to enter into a Framework Agreement for the delivery of electrical and lighting upgrades and decoration works (the "Works") to various of its residential housing stock comprising approximately 26,000 properties of which approximately 3,000 are leasehold. The Authority has entered into a Framework Alliancing Contract, FAC-1 2016 with call-off contracts being under a bespoke form of TPC2005(2013 version). 3 successful service providers were appointed for a period of 48 months, although the duration of the term for call offs may extend beyond that period. The Works include the renewal of rising and lateral mains, the replacement was required of VIR cabling, upgrading of communal lighting and the installation of emergency lighting where none currently exist; and decorations to common parts using a Class O rated fire retardant coating. The works include for: 1) Communal lighting upgrades to 835 blocks, 2) Renewal of rising and lateral mains to 331 blocks, 3) Common part decorations to 125 blocks, 4) A comprehensive resident liaison service to gain access to their flats for the purposes of connecting new electrical mains, 5) Asbestos removal or encapsulation works where required, and, 6) Consultation with residents to select color choices for decorations.
