AHDB cereals and oilseeds’ export team are responsible for the development and maintenance of the ukp and uks export classifications for wheat. New UK wheat varieties are tested from the national list though to approval to the recommended list using the Chopin Alveograph test to ascertain their suitability for the export market according to certain criteria. Varieties meeting these criteria over a number of seasons are awarded the ukp or uks export classification upon their approval to AHDB cereal and oilseeds’ recommended list. This tender seeks to award contracts to carry out the Chopin Alveograph and Zeleny tests in support of the development and maintenance of the ukp and uks export classifications. The tests are required to be undertaken in key export markets, namely Spain and Portugal, as well as the UK. Additionally, tests are undertaken in France to cover the North African key markets.
