Tender description

Durham County Council Durham and Durham University Energy Institute are looking into a potential tender exercise for an Innovation Solid Wall Insulation Project. The Council have applied for ERDF funding and is awaiting confirmation of the bid’s success. If unsuccessful an alternative funding source may be identified. The SWII project will deliver a ‘Whole Place’ energy efficiency innovation programme in a minimum of210 fuel poor homes in former mining villages such as South Moor, Ramshaw, Cockfield and Ferryhill. The procurement is for innovative solid wall insulation product and system that incorporates the following elements that address key local and national factors contributing to current market failure: — new stone and brick SWI finishes that have system warranty* and comply with local planning constraints, — pre fabrication and offsite manufacture of key SWI components, — a scaffold free smart construction/installation method. To a minimum of 210 fuel poor homes in former mining villages such as South Moor, Ramshaw, Cockfield and Ferryhill.
