Bath and North East Somerset Council Highways Maintenance and Improvement Contract. The scope of the service includes: — Carriageway resurfacing and surface treatments. — Improvement schemes and minor construction works. — Cyclic maintenance (Grass cutting, gulley cleansing, grip cutting). — Minor structural maintenance. — Highways inspector gangs. — Winter gritting and fleet management. — Road markings and studs. — Fencing and barriers. — Emergency response. — Event traffic management. — Off-highway works. Litter picking on highway verge is optional. The scope will NOT include: — Traffic signals. — Street lighting. — Highways structures (major works). — Safety and network inspections. — Core design work for resurfacing or improvement schemes. — Winter decision making. — Purchase of salt. — Customer contact centre and community interface. The total value of the initial 7 year term is approximately 49 000 000 GBP. If extended to the full 10 years then the contract value would be approximately 70 000 000 GBP.
