Wyre Forest District Council is refurbishing and improving its existing operational services depot in Green Street, Kidderminster. The site currently accommodates the Council's operational services, support teams, office staff and 2 voluntary sector partners. The project involves demolishing an impractical, energy inefficient office building fronting Green Street and completely refurbishing 2 locally listed buildings. Other refurbishment on the site will allow more efficient use of the site for operational purposes this includes improved infrastructure and a new waste transfer station. The appointment will be by way of competitive tender via the restricted route. The site currently accommodates operational services, support teams, office staff and 2 voluntary sector partners. The project involves demolishing an impractical, outdated, unattractive, energy inefficient office building fronting Green Street and completely refurbishing and bringing 2 locally listed buildings – a former pumping station and sewerage treatment apparatus — back into full use as a new customer advice centre and offices, enhancing the whole Depot site which forms part of a designated Conservation Area. Other refurbishment on the site will allow more efficient use of the site for operational purposesand modernisation of the site to support commercial activity, this includes improved infrastructure and a new waste transfer station.
