Christchurch Infants School Rewire and Replacement of Pipework Services

Tender description

Christchurch C of E VC Infant School rewire and replacement of pipework services in the main school building project forms part of the Council’s 2018/19 Capital Programme and it is Property Services responsibility to deliver the scheme on time and within budget. The current estimated contract sum for all the works is £600k (which includes surveys, potential asbestos removal, decanting the school of furniture, replacement of suspended ceiling and redecoration/repainting of walls). The electrical works of this total estimated at £300k (refer to section 5.0 for the electrical design brief of this ITT). The Works are programmed to be undertaken over the school closure period during July/August 2018 which is 6 weeks. The programme is tight and the Contractor, if required, will be expected to work out of hours (weekends and longer working days) in order to meet the deadline for completion by 31st August 2018. The school comprises of the main school building (0101) 1085m² with a linked/attached Elliott building (0107) 116m², a stand-alone Elliott classroom building used by the afterschool club (0103) 130m², a stand-alone swimming pool (0106) 124m², a stand-alone boiler room and other small stand-alone stores.
