Tender description

Design and build of a new pedestrian bridge to be constructed over the existing main line railway at Luton Airport Parkway station to link into and provide additional access to the new station serving the Mass Passenger Transit system. Design and build of a new pedestrian bridge to be constructed over the existing mainline railway at Luton Airport Parkway station. This will link into and provide additional access to the new station at Bartlett Square which will serve the newly built Mass Passenger Transit system (the works for which are being separately procured under a competitive dialogue procedure advertised in a contract notice published on 24.2.2017). The works will include construction of a bridge over four tracks of the mainline railway within the station, with access provided via new escalators and lifts on the existing platforms. A new waiting room will also be constructed. To construct the works, partial removal of the existing platform canopies and partial widening of two platforms will be required. The procurement is being carried out under a negotiated procedure without prior call for competition in compliance with Regulation 50(1)(c) of the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 (Article 50(c) of Directive 2014/25/EU).
