Tender description
Islington Council invites suitable expressions of interest from experienced contractors to undertake adaptations for disabled residents: testing, servicing and repair of specialist equipment including lifts and hoists. The council is looking to establish a single supplier framework agreement. Background Islington has a housing stock of approximately 35 200 properties of which approximately 16,350 are Partners for Improvement/leaseholder/Tenant Managed Organisations/Co-operatives. Islington has a diverse community and our housing stock reflects this diversity. The repairs service aims to demonstrate a positive impact on our residents' health and well-being by maintaining properties which are safe and fit for purpose. Islington Council has a duty to provide Occupational Therapy assessment for its disabled residents, to find out what help and support they need such as adaptations and equipment in the home. The aim is to support our in-house teams in providing an efficient and effective service of adaptations for disabled residents. Repairs for the breakdown of stairlifts, hoists and other equipment will need to be responded to in a timely manner and during out of hours. Annual servicing of products is required. Other servicing/testing may be requested as part of the contract. This will include all types of testing, servicing and repair of specialist equipment in line with occupational therapists' recommendations. Examples of work which may be carried out under the proposed agreements include but not limited to testing, servicing and repair of specialist equipment including: — Stairlifts. — Ceiling track hoists (and LOLER [Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998] testing of slings). — Through-floor lifts. — Steplifts. — Removal and storage of equipment and reinstall. — Other electrical adaptations such as toilet seats and electrical door openers.
