First Wessex: 'Overheating' Improvement works, Southampton Site.

First Wessex are looking to procure the services of a company to undertake improvement works of an existing development that is approximately 5 year old housing development comprising 115 apartments of mixed tenure arranged in 3 cores. Since completion, the scheme has experienced excessive internal summer temperatures in both communal areas and flats. A study undertaken by First Wessex in conjunction with the Zero Carbon Hub monitored internal temperatures over two summer periods. This confirmed that the development is indeed suffering from ‘overheating’ and that action needs to be taken to ameliorate the situation to safeguard occupants, visitors and employees on health, safety and comfort grounds.
