Tender description

The Coal Authority invites you to tender for the provision of subsidence damage repairs including land drainage, fissures and decorating in in the following regions: — Scotland East (Region 1), — Scotland West (Region 2), — North East & Cumbria (Region 3). The works will primarily consist of undertaking repairs and decorations to domestic properties through the regions specified. All works will follow an agreed schedule of repairs and decorations that may be varied by agreement with the relevant project manager. The repairs and decorations will entail working with house owners to minimise disruption to their property but ensuring that a high standard of repairs and decorations are undertaken. Under normal circumstances, the house owners will remain in residence whilst repairs are undertaken. Repairs may also be undertaken to non-domestic properties such as factories, offices, etc. to the same standard. Repairs will be carried out to buildings, roads and any other structures damaged due to coal mining subsidence. Typical works to be undertaken will involve: — underpinning, — demolition, — temporary propping, — structural repairs, — roofing, brick & block work, — external/internal refurbishments: — — paving, — — glazing, — — electrical, — — plumbing, — — plastering, and, — — decorating. Land drainage repairs will be undertaken following a scheme designed by a land drainage expert. The Authority will expect the minimum of disruption to the land whilst repairs are undertaken. All repairs will be undertaken from the following agreement with the landowner and every attempt will be made to minimise disruption to the landowners during the execution of the repairs.
