Prequalification of Electrical Works Contractors for TCD Campus Medium Voltage Infrastructure Upgrade

Tender description

This project will involve the upgrading of the the existing TCD Campus MV Infrastructure (MV Equipment and Cables) to ensure the increased MV capacity is accommodated at the new intake sub-station at the rear of 188 Pearse Street and distributed across the campus in accordance with best practice and regulatory standards in relation to safety and ensuring maximum resilience of the internal distribution system. The MV cable network shall be arranged in 2 No. ring formations, serving the East side of the campus and the West Side of the campus accordingly. The project will involve the replacement of existing MV equipment (Switchgear, Transformers etc) to approximately 11 Nr Substation locations and the installation of new MV cabling (including excavations, ducting, draw pits and reinstatement) throughout the campus. The works will require careful coordiantion and planning of the works to ensure that operations of the college are maintained and that disruption is kept to an absolute minimum. Detailed switching plans will need to be developed by the contractor to ensure business continuity is maintained.
