Tender description

The appointment of a main contractor to complete the construction of a new resource centre and SEN unit at Queens Manor school. The works also include the provision of Landscaping work associated with the works. This notice relates to the appointment of a main contractor to carry out the works briefly described below. The works on the site of Queens Manor Primary School will involve the construction of a new build Resource Centre for disabled children, demolition of an existing SEN unit and rebuilding of a new unit. There will also be landscaping works providing new play areas and a MUGA. In total there will be a GEA of 855 m2 split between the resource centre and the SEN unit. The new resource centre is to be located in the SW corner of the site and has a GEA of 509 m2, it will have a green roof and house several play rooms along with; offices, staff work space, kitchen, sensory room, breakout space / computer pod, WC's and hygiene room. The current SEN unit will be demolished and rebuilt on a slightly larger footprint to give a GEA of 346 m2. This will be connected to the main school building through a walkway. The building will be used to expand the provision of SEN education at the school. It will house; 2 classrooms, a sensory room, kitchen, staff changing facilities, SEN and standard WC's along with a hygiene room.
