Overhaul and refurbishment work

Tender description

The University has a tender opportunity for the appointment of a main contractor for refurbishment works on four levels of the Reginald Mitchell building and one level of the Sir James Matthews building, associated with the Relocation of the Warsash Maritime Academy to the Reginald Mitchell Building on the University's main East Park Terrace Campus. This contract will be a two part design and build contract using JCT 2016 Contractor Terms and Conditions. Bidders should be aware that both stages of the programme of works will need to be completed 23 July 2018 (subject to agreement of a contract sum following the preconstruction stage). A project plan is included in the tender documentation. The University has a requirement to appoint a Design and Build contractor to work under a two stage construction process (with pre-construction and construction stages) for the design and construction of alterations and refurbishment of the Reginald Mitchell building Floors 4,5,6 and part of 7 along with an area of the basement of the Sir James Matthews building, the buildings will be part occupied albeit area of works will be vacant.
