Changing Places Facility at Pittville Park

Cheltenham Borough Council is seeking tenders from suitable suppliers for the provision of a Changing Places Facility at Pittville Park, Cheltenham The number of people, children and adults, with complex disabilities is increasing and basic disabled toilet facilities that meet legal standards are not meeting their needs. In turn this prevents their ability to visit public places such as shopping, leisure and play area or restricts the period of time they are able to stay. In March 2017 Cheltenham Borough Council approved a project to install two Changing Places accessible toilets, in Pittville Park and the town centre, to provide sanitary facilities within Cheltenham for people with multiple and complex disabilities and their carers The toilet facilities are to be funded by a capital grant from Gloucestershire County Council and are to comply with Changing Places criteria. This is to ensure that any facility advertised as a Changing Places toilet meets the needs and expectations of the people who use them, with regard to size, space and equipment fit out standards, set out in BS8300. This invitation to tender is for the first of the Changing Places toilets located in Pittville Park, Evesham Road, Cheltenham. PLEASE NOTE: The contract start/end dates are not fixed.
