Tender description
The Authority is looking for a Contractor to deliver an Animal Welfare Project to improve farm productivity in England. The aim of the project is to facilitate a reduction in the level of Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) in the population of breeding cattle. The duration of this contract will be for 3 years. The Contractor will be required to work with qualified vets to ensure that a consistent disease control message is relayed to all participants. The Authority, using EU Funds, is looking for a supplier to deliver an Animal Health and Welfare Integrated Project to improve farm productivity in England to achieve a reduction in the level of Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) in cattle, over a three year period. The appointed supplier will be required to: Work with qualified vets to ensure that a consistent disease control message is relayed to all livestock keepers. Hold initial training meetings to establish clusters of livestock keepers, each cluster will be led by a vet who will provide one to one advice on farm, and inform the farmer of the level of testing required. Facilitate the disease test via qualified vet(s) and recover the costs via the contract. Collate the test results and arrange for the vet(s) to carry out a follow up visit. Facilitate a follow up meeting is held for each of the clusters. Be responsible for ensuring that the documentation provided to the Authority is complete, accurate and compliant and that all of the delivery is of good quality and carried out in accordance with the requirements of the tender, regular contact with Rural Payments Agency and other projects and stakeholders working in this area will be essential.
