Tender description

This contract is for the construction of a playground on an open space within the school grounds. The design of the playground should cater for children up to the age of 12 years. It must be surrounded by a suitable fence 1.2m weld mesh with 2 no.self closing gates. Please submit details of the fencing proposed. The budget including vat is a maximum of 47500. This should allow for the supply of materials and installation of the elements associated with the following operations: play equipment, ground preparation, fencing, impact absorbing surfacing and construction of all internal and external footpaths and kerbing. 4. PLAY EQUIPMENT AND LAYOUT All play equipment shall be manufactured and installed to meet the requirements and recommendations of I.S. EN 1176 Parts 1 to 7 including all the additional requirements for children under 36 months old. A declaration from the equipment manufacturer stating that all equipment has been designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with I.S. EN 1176 shall be enclosed with the tender together with test certificates for all tested equipment. Equipment to blend in with a rural setting should include as a minimum : • Sit in springer • Swings- minimum 2m high frames o toddler with cradle seat o senior swings • Two tower activity unit to cover a broad age range with o 1.2m high towers o link rope bridge, o ramp, o slide, o fireman’s pole, o additional play features. • Inclusive Carousel to accommodate a minimum of 5-6 users • 2 person seesaw with controlled movement. • Track Ride The main equipment elements should be made from timber with a minimum warranty of 10 years. Any Steel components should be Hot Dipped and galvanized steel and come with a manufacturers lifetime warranty. Any products that are manufactured from endangered or at risk timber species will not be considered. It is Imperative that the facility is open to the public by the 31st October 2017.
