The pilot is testing a new innovative digital platform ‘Pick Up’ developed in conjunction with FutureGov to enable new and larger groups of users to show they want to travel and multiple transport providers to advertise surplus capacity and identify new routes. The pilot represents a creative solution to address the problem of delivering travel services to dispersed rural populations. The pilot will help us understand the opportunity to expand the use of the platform beyond the pilot area of Maldon increasing the opportunity to travel, increasing economic and social benefits and promoting independent living and travel. A Supplier Engagement Event is planned for Thursday 2.11.2017 14:00 to 16:00 at Essex County Council, County Hall, Chelmsford.
