Tender description

The contract is for the main design and construction works of the Glasgow Airport Investment Area project. The procurement is for the design and construction of the main infrastructure works related to the Glasgow Airport Investment Area (GAIA) Project. The GAIA project will deliver infrastructure and environmental improvements with the objective of facilitating the creation of a world class business and commercial location around the airport and existing manufacturing centres in the heart of Renfrewshire. The main infrastructure works to be included on the contract are as follows: — Realignment of Abbotsinch Road, — Wright Street Link (A new bridge spanning the White Cart -River from Wright Street to an approach road of Arran Avenue), — Cycle Lane Connections (improved connections to existing cycleways anf corepaths), — New and improved junctions, — Drainage, — Landscaping, — Inchinnan Cycleway (new off road cycle way connecting proposed realigned Abbotsinch Road to Inchinnan Business Park including a new cycleway/ pedestrian bridge spanning the Black Cart Water). Elements of the works which may be subject to negotiation are detailed in the document titled ‘GAIA ITP Information and Instructions for Candidates’ attached to the PCS-tender system. The Council is using the competitive procedure with negotiation to procure a Design and Construct Contract with one Contractor in the form of an NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract Option A priced contract with activity schedule.
