Tender for Detailed Interpretation and Content Development for the Dubline and Associated Interpretive Panels

Tender description

Dublin City Council proposes to award a contract for three years commencing in December 2016 for detailed Interpretation and Content Development for the Dubline including Interpretive Panels along the route. The Dubline project involved the development of an international walking trail from Parnell Square to Kilmainham via College Green which presents the story of the City in an entertaining and informative way. The intention is to make the City heritage more accessible and help visitors navigate the local and international attractions along the route as well as tracing the timeline of Dublin from its origins to the present day. It is a joint project between Dublin City Council and Failte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority. Proposals from interested parties are requested for interpretation and development of all interpretive content needed for the Dubline and associated Interpretive Panels. The key deliverable is to assist in helping the Dubline and its associated self-guided discovery trails to become a highly enjoyable visitor experience that may be engaged with on the ground with the aid of both digital and physical media. A number of Dublin discovery trails have been developed which spiral off the Dubline (review www.DublinDiscoveryTrails.com for further information). Eleven Interpretive panels were installed in December 2015 at strategic locations along the route and each of the panels detail local areas of historical and cultural interest and significance. A map detailing these locations is contained in Appendix D. It is proposed to award a contract for the creation of content at additional locations along the route and other areas of the City, as required.
