Tender description

North Yorkshire County Council wishes to appoint a contractor to carry out Downholme Bridge Maintenance Program. The work will contain rebuilding damaged parapet and spandrel wall include eroded joints to be raked out and repointed using mortar to match prevailing existing mortar. Downholme Bridge is a three span stone arch structure, carries a minor road across the River Swale from the A6108 to Marske, west of Richmond. The main flow of the river is through the highest arch near the A6108. This is on the outside of the river meander. The A6108 runs parallel to the river at this location and is c.8m above the bed.
