Tender description

The minor building frameworks will be used to award individual building contracts on a mini comp basis, in the following 5 lots: 1/ General building works — contract value £1 to £250,000 (repairs and renovations/refurbishments) 2/ General building works £250,000 to £1m (as above plus extensions/new builds) 3/ SCOLA and building recladding works £1 to £2m 4/ Doors and Windows £1 to £500,000 (repair and replacement) 5/ Roofing £1 to £250,000 (repair and replacement) The framework is procured by Hampshire County Council. Other Hampshire area public sector organizations will be allowed to use the framework, subject to signing a user agreement. For example, Police (OPCC); Hants Fire and Rescue; Reading BC; UKJ district and borough councils; unitary authorities; schools, colleges, universities, academies and as noted in Contract Notice OJ/S S102 182002-2016-EN. Lot 1 General Building works — order value band 1 GBP to less than 250 000 GBP. The tender opportunities will be offered to 3 contractors (under £100,000) or 5 contractors (over £100,000) selected from the contractor list in the lot on a rotating basis. Contractors will then submit tenders on a minicomp basis The works in this Lot will typically comprise the following: — External building fabric repairs and maintenance — Gutters, fascia, downpipes, roofs, render, brick, stone, windows, doors — Internal building repairs — Vandal damage, water damage, repairs to doors, windows, replacement flooring, kitchen and toilet arearepairs, redecorations, minor alterations — Selective interventions throughout an existing building — Small internal building refurbishments and alterations — New and refurbished kitchens — New and refurbished toilet areas, shower rooms and cloak rooms — Fire protection works (doors, ceiling voids, escape doors) — Teaching area refurbishments (new ceilings, lighting, partitions, wall openings, flooring, fixtures, doors,sinks) — Office area alterations and refurbishments — Flood and fire damage repairs — Disabled access upgrades — ramps, handrails, doors — Science laboratory refurbishments — Computer teaching areas — Small extensions — Kitchen blocks, toilet blocks, plant rooms Value range between £36m and £64m. Lot 2 General Building works — 250 000 GBP to 1 000 000 GBP The tender opportunities will be offered to 5 contractors selected from the contractor list in the lot on a rotating basis. Contractors will then submit tenders on a minicomp basis Larger internal/external building refurbishments and alterations — New and refurbished kitchens — New and refurbished toilet areas, shower rooms and cloak rooms — Fire protection works (doors, ceiling voids, escape doors) — Teaching area refurbishments (new ceilings, lighting, partitions, wall openings, flooring, fixtures, doors,sinks) — Office area alterations and refurbishments — Flood and fire damage repairs — Disabled access upgrades — ramps, handrails, doors — Science laboratory refurbishments — Computer teaching areas — Large extensions — Kitchen blocks, toilet blocks, plant rooms, classrooms Value Range between £24m and £40m. Lot 3 SCOLA and Recladding Works — 1 GBP to 2 000 000 GBP The tender opportunities will be offered to 3 contractors (up to £100,000) and 5 contractors (over £100,000) selected from the contractor list in the lot on a rotating basis. Contractors will then submit tenders on a minicomp basis The works in this Lot will typically comprise the following: Re-cladding of a single free standing building — Re-cladding of a suite of buildings on a specific campus — Re-cladding of specific embedded buildings within other newer or older existing buildings — Re-cladding of a whole school — Refurbishments — Alterations — Extensions. Estimated value excluding VAT: Range: between 20 000 000 and 50 000 000 GBP. Lot 4 Door and Window Works — 1 GBP to 500 000 GBP The tender opportunities will be offered to 3 contractors (up to £100,000) and 5 contractors (over £100,000) selected from the contractor list in the lot on a rotating basis. Contractors will then submit tenders on a minicomp basis The works in this Lot will typically comprise the following: Examples of this work might include: — Minor alterations and repairs to windows — Re-glazing works — Single one-off window replacement — Programmes of repeat work across a number of premises — Window replacement of all windows in a specific premises. Estimated value excluding VAT: Range: between 12 000 000 and 20 000 000 GBP. Lot 5 Roofing Works — 1 GBP to 250,000 GBP The tender opportunities will be offered to 3 contractors (up to £100,000) and 5 contractors (over £100,000) selected from the contractor list in the lot on a rotating basis. Contractors will then submit tenders on a minicomp basis The works in this Lot will typically comprise the following: — Minor alterations and repairs to roofs; — Single one-off roof re-tiling or recovering; — Programmes of roof re-tiling or recovering work across a number of premises; — Large re-tiling or recovering work over a specific premises. Estimated value between 20 000 000 GBP and 40 000 000 GBP.
