ESPH SB Wadhurst Homes for Rent and Sale (ESPH194)

Tender description

The Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Contractors, to act as Principle Contractor in the design and construction of new affordable housing to rent and housing for older people to sell at two sites in Wadhurst: Snape View and Courthope Avenue. The site in Snape View is currently used for parking but will be replaced with a 3 unit apartment block with parking, cycle storage and bin stores. The site in Courthope Avenue will provide two 2 bedroom chalet bungalows for sale aimed at older people. Wealden District Council has appointed architects (Frankham) to planning submission stage only, planning approval was granted in September 2016. Ridge LLP are acting as Employers Agent to manage the contract and act on the Councils behalf. The apartments at Snape View will be for rent to households who are on the Council's Housing Register for accommodation. The homes will be part of the Council's rented stock. The homes therefore need to be good quality and low maintenance. The Courthope Avenue bungalows will be for sale on the open market aimed at older people so again will be of good quality to appeal to an older market.
