National Grid Viking Ling and Energinet.dk (the ‘Employers’) are jointly developing a HVDC interconnector between the United Kingdom and Denmark. This notice concerns the award of a contract for the UK onshore civil works associated with the cable installation from the shoreline to the connection point to the grid. To register your interest in this procurement event and to obtain the tender documentation Applicants are to email Abigail.hancock@nationalgrid.com using the subject wording ‘Registering interest for Viking Link UK Onshore Civil Works’ and include in the body of the message (if you have them) your Ariba AN numbers (Network ID), name, email address and contact phone number for all contacts within your organisation who will need to receive Ariba messages and administer your online submissions. Following receipt of this information National Grid will invite you to the Ariba event where all of the tender documentation is contained including further instructions. The civil engineering works relating to the cable installation including but not limited to: Surveys. Consenting activities. Site security. Compounds. Site clearance and establishment. Management of soils. Haul roads, laydown areas, crane platforms for use by the Contractor and the cable supplier. Temporary works. Trenches. Structures and ducts for HVDC. Crossings with other services and assets. Joint bays at locations designed and for use by the cable supplier. Lubrication pits to facilitate cable pulling activities. Backfilling of trenches above the tile and provision of market tapes. Drainage. Reinstatement. Signage and information. Highway works to enable delivery of cable. Provision of comprehensive as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals. Training and knowledge sharing of information related to the civil engineering assets and maintenance of those assets. High standard of public and stakeholder liaison. Interface with other contractors engaged by the Employers, in particular the cable contractor and the converter contractor.
