Tender description

Brighton and Hove City Council Housing and New Homes Committee approval was gained in January 2017 to procure a new framework agreement for the provision of housing adaptations for disabled people in council properties and private sector dwellings. This agreement will be for 3 years, with an option to extend for up to 12 months. Works (defined as those costing over 1 000 GBP excluding VAT) will be based on what has been recommended as necessary and appropriate for the disabled person by the Occupational Therapist (OT) and must also be considered necessary and appropriate in line with the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996. The Housing Adaptations Service of the Authority provides major adaptations works (defined as those costing over 1 000 GBP excluding VAT) to individuals (the ‘Service Users’) using the Authority's Housing Adaptations Service. The main focus of the Works under the Framework Agreement will be the provision of Works in Authority owned properties. However some Works in private properties will be required as part of the Disabled Facilities Grant scheme, where the Authority currently works in partnership with a Home Improvement Agency (HIA).
