The Council is looking for a supplier for the refurbishment of Alum Chine Playground. The project involves demolition and clearance of the existing play area and construction of a new playground including various play features and elements. The works include: • Removing play equipment, fencing and furniture, both for disposal and re-use off-site; • Excavations for footings for new play equipment and items; • Reducing soil levels in localised area; • Trenching for water supply from adjacent toilet block; • Installing gabions; • Construction of features using reclaimed Greenheart and Ekki hardwoods supplied via Bournemouth Borough Council (terraces, planters and benches); • Installation of large ‘fallen play tree’ (requiring crane) and large log sections; • Other timber work including new fencing and refurbishment of existing fences, boardwalk and seat. • Installing various play features both off the peg and bespoke; • Topsoiling; • Laying small areas of macadam surface course and self-binding gravel; • Installing / laying Impact Absorbing Surfaces (IAS) including bark, sand and sand carpet; and • Overseeing / co-ordinating the installation of the bespoke play ship. It is anticipated that the scheme is to complete by end of May in time for the Bank Holiday. Keywords: Park, Refurbishment, Demolish
