Construction of New Community Fire Station, Swadlincote

Tender description

Demolition of existing fire station and associated outbuildings. Construction of a new 2-storey station building with attached 2 double bay vehicle garage with a total floor area of approximately 1270m², ancillary smoke training building, associated external works and car parking. Bidders should note that it is possible that during the contract the fire crews may have to remain on site in temporary accommodation both for the crews and garaging for the appliances. This temporary accommodation would be arranged by the Contractor on the basis of a specification to be detailed within the Employers Requirements unless suitable off site accommodation can be sourced in a suitable timeframe. If the crews remain on site then the project will have to be suitably phased to allow works to be sequenced to allow the build to be progressed and safe access and egress for fire crews and appliances to be maintained.
