Tender description

Blackpool Council wishes to appoint a Construction Partner to carry out the construction of a new Conference and Exhibition Centre and refurbishment / remodelling of parts of the existing buildings at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool. The works to the existing buildings will be required to be undertaken whilst the building is occupied and operational. Contractors must demonstrate substantial experience and track record of working on/with Grade II* listed, multi-functional buildings, it is also a requirement that any sub-contractors appointed demonstrate the same relevant experience. 1. The construction of a 2-floor steel framed building, including demolition. 2. Refurbishment of the existing Foyer including demolition. 3. Refurbishment and minor Remodelling of the Opera House and Empress Ballroom. 4. Demolition of the Foyer, East elevation of the Empress Ballroom, Existing out buildings To the North elevation. 5. External works to the new entrance on Leopold Grove including Terrazzo tiles, concrete paviors, tarmac footways. Full details were contained in the tender documents.
