Re-Roofing and Roof Light Works at St Georges School, Newport, Isle of Wight

Tender description

The Isle of Wight Council (“the Authority”) invites Tenders from suitably qualified providers (“Tenderers”) for the provision of re-roofing and roof light works at St Georges School, Newport, Isle of Wight. The contract is to run from 24 July 2017 for the period of the agreed programme. The works consist of re-roofing to parts of the school where the existing roof finish will be stripped back to the existing metal deck. The flat roof area is to be finished with torch applied high performance built up felt roofing complete with tapered insulation. All the existing skylights in the work area are to be replaced with new and the existing painted ply fascia is to be insulated and then overclad with new uPVC shiplap. The existing school was built circa 1972 and the existing roof has been constructed using a steel space frame with steel deck. The existing roof finish is a mix of single ply and felt in various layers over 12mm fibreboard over the steel deck. Keywords: Roofing, Construction
