Tender description

Warwickshire County Council wish to put in place a multi provider framework for evidence based parenting programmes for parents and carers of children and young people aged 0 — 25 living in Warwickshire and to provide training for practitioners working with families. Therapies are not included in this framework. The framework will provide a wide selection of programmes that will deliver the individual outcomes for families and will include: Lot 1: Training Courses for Practitioners working with Families across the public and voluntary sector Lot 2: Direct delivery of parenting programmes to parents and carers Lot 3: Direct delivery of training for young people at risk of becoming young parents and/or young people with caring responsibilities The Framework Agreement can be accessed, subject to authorisation by Warwickshire County Council, by all Local Authorities in England, Scotland and Wales, a list of which may be found here: https://www.gov.uk/find-local-council. The parenting support workforce may include but not be limited to the following services and workers: social care, early help services, targeted youth support, children centres services family support workers, early years workers, midwives, health visitors, school nurses, schools, voluntary sector and faith based organisations youth, community and family workers/volunteers. Practitioners (paid staff and volunteers) working with parents and families will be equipped with the knowledge, understand, skills, confidence and self-efficacy to deliver evidence based parenting courses to individuals and groups of parents based on parents' diverse needs of those participating. The outcomes of parents and carers participating in programmes 1:1 and within groups will be to strengthen families to increase positive and nurturing parenting with a focus on: — Secure attachment and bonding — Child/Parent Relationship — Support Structures — Parenting Strategies Through prevention and early intervention parents will be better able to give children and the best start in life and continue to meet their child's changing needs as their progress to adulthood. In addition targeted programmes will support parents with particular needs or at crisis points. All programmes will consider how support can be sustained those peer and community based support. Young people at risk of becoming young parents and/or young people with caring responsibilities will have access to age appropriate programmes that provides relationship and parenting training for young people that builds strengths, resilience and capacity for them to make a choice about delaying their parenting and support them in preparing from parenthood and what is involved in caring for a child. This will focus on the two key areas: — young people awareness of positive relationships and sexual health — an introduction to parenting and caring for children including attachment and bonding.
