Tender description

Bridgwater and Taunton College are currently out to tender for the works contract to build the National College for Nuclear — Student Accommodation. This is a restricted procedure and this is the pre qualification stage and the standard questionnaire will be sent to you upon receipt of your expression of interest. Tender documents are normally published to the secure area within 24 hours. If after this time you have not received your email advising the tender documents have been published to the secure area, please contact the procurement office by sending a message through the correspondence function. The closing date for return of tenders is Noon 10.4.2017. The National College for Nuclear (NCfN) is one of five National Colleges funded by the Government and working in collaboration with employers to reduce the skills gap in key industry areas. Many of the courses will be residential and to support this requirement the College is intending to build student accommodation providing 200 new rooms for the HE Sector, to be completed in full by January 2019 with the potential for expansion in further phases of up to a further 350 rooms. The College is open to either modular or traditional forms of construction and will consider alternative funding proposals. An outline design for the residential scheme has been developed to concept level and Outline Planning approval has been approved. Bridgwater & Taunton College is now seeking to appoint a development partner to develop the design, secure finance for the scheme and to build it. The College will retain operational, lifecycle and demand risk and the proposed development will be located at the main Cannington Centre on a green field site. The main site is provided with all main services and significant survey information is available.
