Tender description

The supply and distribution of different fruit and vegetables for consumption by school pupils as part of the ‘School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme’. The Framework Agreement will be divided into 22 Lots. Under Lots1-21 Suppliers will be required to procure and deliver their awarded fruit and/or vegetables to the depot of the distributor(s) awarded to serve the relevant region for onward distribution to schools. For purpose of organisation the supply and distribution areas are divided into 21 different regional areas covering the whole of England. Under Lot 22 Distributors will be required to order and receive deliveries of fruit and vegetables from various suppliers in accordance with the ‘Consumption Calendar’ and to distribute such fruit and vegetables to schools. This Procurement is split into 22 Lots; Lot 1 to 21 — These Lots are for the supply of fruit and vegetables under the School Fruit and VegetableScheme this will include Apples Easy Peel Citrus Fruit Pears Bananas Carrots Tomatoes Strawberries SugarSnap Peas Dried Grapes Grapes Mini Cucumbers and Mini Sweet Bite Peppers. Lot 1 — Region 1 Lot 2 — Region 2 Lot 3 — Region 3 Lot 4 — Region 4 Lot 5 — Region 5 Lot 6 — Region 6 Lot 7 — Region 7 Lot 8 — Region 8 Lot 9 — Region 9 Lot 10 — Region 10 Lot 11 — Region 11 Lot 12 — Region 12 Lot 13 — Region 13 Lot 14 — Region 14 Lot 15 — Region 15 Lot 16 — Region 16 Lot 17 — Region 17 Lot 18 — Region 18 Lot 19 — Region 19 Lot 20 — Region 20 Lot 21 — Region 21 Suppliers will be required to deliver fruit and/or vegetables to the awarded distributor for that region for onward distribution to schools. For the purpose of organisation the supply and distribution areas are divided into 21different regional areas (please refer to section 2.5.24 in the Invitation to Tender for details) covering 152 Local Authorities throughout England. Lot 22 — This Lot is for the distribution of fruit and vegetables to 21 regions throughout England (please refer to section 2.5.24 in the Invitation to Tender for details) which consists of 152 Local Authorities in total. Distributors will be required to distribute various categories of fruit and vegetables (this includes Apples Easy Peel Citrus Fruit Pears Bananas Carrots Tomatoes Strawberries Sugar Snap Peas Dried Grapes Grapes Mini Cucumbers and Mini Sweet Bite Peppers) in accordance with the ‘Consumption Calendar’ and will receive deliveries of fruit and vegetables from suppliers awarded to the applicable Lot(s) 1 to 21. The term of this Framework Agreement is 4 years but it may be terminated early. Applicants should therefore note the provisions set out in the Framework Agreement permitting early termination of the Framework Agreement. In particular NHS Supply Chain reserves the right to terminate the Framework Agreement if the funding for the Schools Fruit and Vegetables is withdrawn or if the terms of that funding change.
