Tender description

This contract is to appoint a single contractor to undertake a Principal Contractor for the Contract for Gaunless and Brusselton Incline – Works to Scheduled Monuments & Bridge at West Auckland. The scheme is subject to Schedule Monument Consent from Historic England. Nature: The Contract is for repairs to the masonry retaining walls, including the provision of new stone, repointing, removal of vegetation and rebuilding an accommodation bridge side wall, redressing an embankment, hand railing and steps, including erection of scaffolding. In one location the works entail the building of a stone faced concrete wall. Location: The site is in two parts: 1. Brusselton Incline, located near West Thickley Farm, about 3 km south of Bishop Auckland. 2. Gaunless Bridge, Oakley Green, St Helens, Auckland. It should be noted that the site is in two sections divided by the River Gaunless. This procurement is issued under an Open Procedure
