Tender description

The Authorities contract (for 3 years with additional extensions) is for a transport and logistics requirement for the road transport distribution of HMP Ford's carriage requirements, which generally include mainly bedding plants, seasonal poppies, nursery stock and any additional ‘ad-hoc’ deliveries. A suitable fleet of vehicles to deal with pillar pallets, cages and Danish trolleys or equivalent will be required, and expected pickups from HMP Ford number one per day on average with deliveries to multiple nationwide secure sites, although routes and numbers vary/fluctuate throughout the year. Time will be crucial to performance. Vetted drivers are an essential requirement, as will be adequate processes to provide satisfactory customer service and management information regularly. Contract as described above, awarded after open tender exercise conducted and following standstill awarded on 5th September per advertised criteria breakdowns (i.e. MEAT).
