Tender description
Following the award in principle of ERDF funding, Cornwall Council seeks to appoint a suitably experienced Principal Design and Build Contractor to undertake the works to construct the new multi-modal hub facilities at St Erth Railway Station. The works comprise the provision of approximately 440 new car parking spaces to the south of the station and approximately 100 part replacement (reconfigured) and part new car parking spaces (72 existing spaces) to the north of the station with associated infrastructure. The works also include a pedestrian ramped access from the south car park to platform level, improvements to the station forecourt and amendments to the existing junction on the A30 Trunk Road. We anticipate the Contract Award to take place in January 2017, with completion and full use of the new facilities required by June 2018. The project provides a multi-modal transport hub for west Cornwall at St. Erth Railway Station. The works will comprise: New and improved car parking to the north and south of the railway station, with ticket machines, cycle shelters, CCTV, electric car charging and lighting. A ramp to the South Car Park. Signalising a junction at the A30/Station Approach. Fixed and variable message signs on roads leading to the site and at car parks. An improved station forecourt. Road construction, drainage, environmental and structures works. Services diversions and new supplies A suitably experienced Principal Contractor is required to: Undertake the complete design and construction under an NEC 3 ECC (Option A) contract. Commence design in January 2017. Discharge pre-construction planning conditions by 5.4.2017. Complete construction no later than June 2018. Be qualified for the CDM roles of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor. Use BIM Level 2 maturity. Gain CEEQUAL ‘Very Good’ award.
