Dublin Airport currently has direct flights to over 180 destinations, in 40 countries, on 4 continents, with 54 airlines. Dublin Airport is the only European capital to offer US Pre-clearance. This is a purpose built facility that allows US bound passengers to undertake all immigration, customs and agriculture inspections at Dublin prior to departure. Passengers are then welcomed as domestic passengers in the US. This has benefits for both passengers and airlines and has helped promote transatlantic services with new routes to Hartford, CT and Newark, NJ being launched in September 2016. In 2015, over 25 000 000 passengers passed through the airport making it the airport's busiest year on record, which was a 14 % increase in passengers over 2014. 2015 also saw the launch of 24 new routes Dublin. According to ACI Europe traffic report, Dublin Airport was the fastest growing major airport in Europe in the 1st 6 months of 2016.
