Tender description
Portsmouth City Council (the Council) is seeking to procure a contract for the replacement of the existing, double-decked linkspan on Berth 4 of Portsmouth International Port. Applications are invited from companies wishing to be considered to tender for the design, fabrication and installation a new integral tank, floating linkspan at Portsmouth Continental Ferry Port Berth 4. The work is to include the following: 1. Design of new double deck linkspan in accordance with Lloyds Rules AT Classification. 2. Fabrication of linkspan in accordance with Lloyds Rules AT Classification. 3. Transport to Portsmouth. 4. Install on existing civil engineering supports. 5. Commission. 6. Remove and dispose of existing linkspan. The Authority is targeting to have awarded the contract by 23.12.2016 with a subsequent commencement date immediately upon award. The Estimated contract duration will be for 12 months. The Works comprise the design and fabrication of a double deck linkspan, its transportation to Portsmouth Harbour, installation on to civil engineering supports, commissioning and initial superintendence of operation and all designer and Contractor duties under CDM 2015. The linkspan is to be designed and constructed in accordance with, and classified as, a Lloyd's Register classification AT Passenger and Vehicle Linkspan. The main headings under which work will be required are: design fabrication and installation of a linkspan. The Council is targeting to have awarded the contract by 23.12.2016 with an immediate commencement. The initial Contract period will be for 1 year.
